MISE-EN-SCENE

I decided to do my MISE-EN-SCENE on the Korean drama Strong Girl Bong-Soon. i chose this tv show because unlike many shows that follow the usual story line, it has a good plot that the episodes follow throughout the season and it never sidetracks from the main plot. Also including the fact that I enjoyed the show so much that I watched it many times, and it takes hooks the viewer aka me.
The first scene the show opens with is with the main male character in a flashback when he was on a bus. In this flashback the bus is about to crash but it show how he looks out the back window and sees a girl in a pink hoodie who stopped the bus from crashing he considered her to be an angel sent from above. This particular scene is taken in a shallow space focusing on the event of the bus suddenly stopping right before it's about to crash and the guys reaction. The shallow space helped move the story along by creating a center point for the future through the show. The next few scenes after this one is the setting in the city Seoul, and the Ainsoft company in South Korea which are later important settings throughout the show. The wardrobe and costumes worn throughout the show by the actors expresses and allows the viewers to see how innocent, and carefree the young girl is, by using bright colored clothing and soft looking makeup. While on the other hand the boy is a lot more extravagant with his clothing and the fact that he is the CEO of a gaming company in his early 20's. the approach to the lighting is a high key to make the scenes more sweet and convey the innocence of the girl who later becomes the bodyguard of the CEO, throughout the show she is in a love triangle with the CEO and her best friend who is a cop but eventually falls in love with the CEO.
